Screening Camp
A screening camp for Chandipura virus was conducted in collaboration with Anurag College of Pharmacy, under a project undertaken by CIIMS Research Laboratory titled “Generation and Evaluation of Human Monoclonal Antibodies against Chandipura Virus.” The project focuses on identifying antibodies in healthy individuals to facilitate the development of
human monoclonal antibodies. Chandipura virus was first identified in 1965 in Bhandara District, and currently there are no licensed vaccines or specific antiviral therapies available.
Therefore, the study aims to contribute toward future therapeutic strategies by generating and evaluating monoclonal antibodies against CHPV.
As part of this initiative, the first camp was organized to screen healthy individuals. The team that visited the college and ensured the smooth conduct of the camp included Dr. Rajpal Singh Kashyap, Dr. Amit Nayak, Dr. Rima Biswas, Mr. Chinmay Dhongadi, Ms. Kumari Sneha, and Ms. Nidhi Makwana. We sincerely appreciate the institution’s cooperation in successfully organizing this activity and for formalizing this scientific collaboration through the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), which will further strengthen future academic and research partnerships.
