Achievements of CIIMS - Advanced Research Center - At a glance

CIIMS- Advanced Research Centre (CIIMS-ARC), is based on the principles of scientific excellence and collaboration, our lab is dedicated to advancing knowledge and addressing critical challenges faced at bedside level. Our areas of specialization include Molecular epidemiology, Neuroinfections, Immunoassays, development of in-vitro cell culture models for various infections and diseases, development of TB vaccines, etc.
During our journey of research we have achieved certain projects, awards, patents, publications, MOUs, Ph.D awards, National and International Linkages, etc which are listed below :
  • CIIMS-Advanced Research Centre is recognized by the  Department of Scientific and Industrial Research (DSIR), Govt. of India.

  • CIIMS-Advanced Research Center (CIIMS-ARC) is a NABL Accredited Research Centre.

  • Linkages:

    We have more than 100 linkages with various National and International Institutes and Hospitals along with this we have multiple linkages with numerous commercial companies. (List enclosed)

  • Research Projects:

    We have received grants from several International and National Universities and Institutes for projects like “Evaluation of Cow urine Distillate as a bioenhancer to increase the efficacy of Anti-TB drugs against MTB infection" from Ministry of Ayush, “Metagenomics Next Generation Sequencing approach to study etiology of undiagnosed Meningioencephalitis infection in Central India” from ICMR, “Diagnostic utility of mNGS approach to study etiology of Meningioencephalitis in Central India” from Grand Challenges, Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, “National waste water survillieance on covid-19” from DBT INSACOG, Government of India, and “Local evaluation of RT-PCR vs NGS for early detection, survillieance and prevention of communicable viral diseases in Central India: a waste water based epidemiology study” from Global Challenges Research Fund, University of Nottingham.

Our other achievements under the specific areas include:

Diagnostic Tests Developed

•  Neuroinfection Diagnostic test panel (20 Diseases) and benefited more than 6500 patients.
•  Abdominal TB and other extra pulmonary TB tests (benefited more than 8000 patients.)
•  Brain TB test - we are the first. (benefited more than 6000 patients)
•  Post operative neuroinfections Diagnostic test. (Benefited more than 1000 patients.)
•  Latent TB Diagnosis and prevention methodology established. (Benefited more than 10000 patients.)
•  Zoonotic infection Diagnostic test. (benefited more than 20000 patients)
•  AMR Diagnostic panel.
•  Test for CHIK V has been established. (Benefited more than 6000 patients.)
•  Neurozoonotic infection diagnostic test. (Benefited more than 2600 patients.)

Research model developed

•  In vitro antibody production protocol developed.

•  Machine-free PCR technology established.
•  Biomarkers in stroke patients.
•  DNA/RNA Technology based protocols.
•  Potential herbs identified for neurological diseases.
•  Stage-specific immunodiagnostic protocol has been established for infectious diseases. (Benefited around 5000 patients.)
