ABOUT US
CIIMS Research Laboratory is a part of Central India Institute of Medical Sciences. It was started in year 2000 under the leadership of legendary neurologist late. Dr. G.M. Taori & Microbiologist Professor H. F. Daginawala for conducting translation research on human illness. Institute is recognized from Department of Scientific and Industrial Research (DSIR), Department of science & technology Government of India (recognition no. F.No.14/14/88-TU-V) for conducting then R & D activity since its inception. Dr. Rajpal Singh Kashyap taken as Director, Research position since 2015.
Recently Institute has constructed dedicated building for research in the name “CIIMS-Advanced Research Centre” (CIIMS-ARC). CIIMS ARC was inaugurate on 29th June 2023. CIIMS-ARC is a translatory Medical Research Centre, working on Bedside level. The clinical problems addressed by clinicians at the bedside will be taken care by Scientists at the bench level and again a solution given to clinicians on the concerned topic. CIIMS ARC is working on bedside-to bench and again bedside approach. The Research done by scientists ultimately helping patients and society. The objective of this centre is “Science saving Lives”.
Research at CIIMS-ARC mainly focused on various aspects of infectious and non infectious diseases like, epidemiology , surveillance, & pathogenesis and development of cost effective diagnostic solution for uncommon disease to support the clinician diagnosis infectious.
CIIMS-ARC has all the modern amenities like Advance microbiology facility, Animal Cell culture facility, Molecular Laboratory facility, Immunology Laboratory facility, proteomics Laboratory facility and Animal house facility & Next generation sequencing facility.
CIIMS-ARC has established different wings to serve the society at various level. These include Academic wing, Diagnostic wing, Capacity building & outsourcing wing, Technology transfer wing, and Science scientist & society wing.
The contributions of CIIMS-ARC scientists have gained National and International recognition of through publications in renowned scientific journals, Patents, Awards, and funding from national and international funding agencies, like Indian Council of Medical Research( ICMR), Department Of Science & Technology (DST), Welcome to Department of Biotechnology (DBT), Council of Scientific & Industrial Research (CSIR), Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation (BMGF) USA, University of Nottingham (UoN) UK, Ministry of Ayush & Ministry of Mines and other reputed National and International groups.
