The Central India Institute of Medical Sciences – Advanced Research Centre (CIIMS- ARC), Nagpur, in collaboration with the ICMR Collaborating Centre of Excellence, successfully conducted a 15-day Research Internship Program on Immunology and Lateral Flow Assay (LFA) Development from 15th to 31st July 2025. The program was designed to provide participants with intensive hands-on training, combining fundamental concepts with real-world diagnostic applications. The Immunology module covered immunoassay principles, peptide design strategies, ELISA execution, and statistical analysis of diagnostic accuracy using MedCalc, alongside expert-led sessions, case studies, and group discussions. The LFA module offered practical exposure to the selection and handling of components, antibody-nanoparticle conjugation, strip fabrication, assembly, testing, and validation against real-world scenarios. By the conclusion of the program, participants had gained a clear understanding of immunodiagnostic assay principles, designed diagnostic peptides, successfully performed ELISA, applied statistical tools for data interpretation, and developed proficiency in LFA workflows. The internship was widely appreciated for its structured blend of theory, laboratory training, and data analysis, equipping attendees with essential technical skills and conceptual clarity to advance in the field of diagnostic research and development.
